Wildcats Take Second Set From Texarkana But Can’t Knock Off Streaking Eagles

 
TEXARKANA, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University volleyball program battled back to win the second set and even the match at one apiece, but TAMUT bounced back to claim its ninth consecutive victory by taking the final games in a 3-1 triumph.

Wildcats Top Performers:
 
  • Katie Spell logged her second double-double of the campaign and the fourth of her career by piling up a game-high 14 kills (3.5 p/s) plus ten digs (2.5 p/s) in addition to a pair of blocks (0.50 p/s).
 
  • Aniah Adams co-led the match with 14 kills (3.5 p/s) as well, hitting .265 over 34 attacks.
 
  • Emma Cother was stellar, lofting up a match-best 36 assists for an average of nine per set while tying her career-best of three kills (0.75 p/s). She nearly pieced together her second straight double-double and third of the year, just missing the cut with nine digs (2.25 p/s).
 
  • Leah Stamps set a new season benchmark for single-game digs, recording 22 (5.5 p/s) on top of a trio of assists (0.75 p/s).
 
  • Carlie Horton contributed the club's lone service ace and Kierra Jones blocked two shots to wrap up the box score notables.
 
Notes:
 
  • The Wildcats lit the gym on fire on its way to the second set win, smashing 15 kills to just two errors on 31 attacks for a blistering .419 hitting percentage.

  • The Orange and Blue will try to prevent Texarkana from improving its winning streak to double-digits when they meet again on Saturday at noon.
