WACO, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University men's soccer program are playing stingy defense and it has been rewarded with its second straight Red River Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week as
Jeronimo Larrain Olivares got the nod on Monday afternoon.
Larrain Olivares, a sophomore from Santiago, Chile, won individual battles and aerial duals to solidify LCU's backline in a shutout 3-0 victory over crosstown rivals, LSUA. The defense limited the Generals to just 3 shots-on-goal and the win was the first ever in program history over LSU Alexandria.
The 5-foot-11 midfielder joins
Pedro Rivera as Cats to have collected the honor this year for the team.
Larrain Olivares, Rivera, and the Orange and Blue travel to the Land of Enchantment for a date with the Southwest Mustangs in Hobbs, New Mexico at 4:30 p.m. central time inside
Bob Moran Field.
