MARSHALL, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University volleyball program got the season off on the right foot Friday afternoon defeating the Bulldogs of JCC in three for its first victorious debut since 2019.

Wildcats Top Performers:
 

• Katie Spell set a new career/game-high with five aces while putting together an all-around performance including a match-best 12 points, six kills, four digs, and two blocks.

 

• Aniah Adams led the Wildcats on offense and defense, slamming down seven kills and seven digs, in addition to a pair of block assists.

 

• Kate Campbell recorded personal-bests in both points (7.5) and blocks (3) as two of the rejections were of the solo variety.

 

• Julie Bordeau tied Campbell for the game's most blocks at three, going for a career-best in the category as well.

 

• Leah Stamps and Emma Cother both tied their LCU benchmarks at four assists and three kills, respectively.

 

• Stamps and Cother each notched seven digs for game-highs as the latter student-athlete averaged eight assists per set.

Notes:
 

• The ladies from Central Louisiana have now won two of its seven campaign debuts since the program started in 2017, both being sweeps of Jarvis Christian with the other being on August 30, 2019.

 

• LCU dominated in all facets of the match, topping the Bulldogs in kills (31-22), assists (29-21), digs (35-31), and service aces (11-1) while hitting more than 125 points higher (.153-.024).

• The women in Orange and Blue will attempt to build a winning streak on Saturday morning against the tournament hosts, Wiley College, eyeing its first 2-0 start in team history.
