HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Louisiana Christian University women's soccer program heads into Hub City on Saturday evening with something to prove and will have a golden opportunity to do so right away as the Cats face the #5 Crusaders of WCU in a rematch of the 2021 NAIA First Round match that marked the first NAIA Tournament appearance in team history.

Louisiana Christian Wildcats:

  • French phenom and All-RRAC Second Team selection Emma Monnet is back in Pineville for the third year in-a-row, coming off a ten-goal, three-assist season that saw her lead the Wildcats in nearly all offensive categories.

  • The second-best goal scorer, Alexa Midkiff, as well as fellow All-RRAC Second Teamer Aubrey Jooslin also return for Head Coach Kendall Ayers' second season after putting a trip of shots past the goalkeeper in 2022, but both Laura Magleau and Guinevere Borja have moved on.

  • Jaycee Woods is the only netminder with previous experience donning the Orange and Blue of LCU, spending just over 85 minutes in goal since 2021. Bethel (Tennessee) transfer Ana Ramirez comes into the fold as she will look to wrestle away some time at goalie after sporting a sparkling 0.62 goals against average and 15 saves over seven matches as a freshman.

#5 William Carey Crusaders:

  • An NAIA Quarterfinalist after a 16-3-2 season in 2022, the Crusaders are rolling right along once again, outscoring their first two opponents 14-1.

  • William Carey has three ladies with multiple goals already, led by Zalma Torres (4), Julia Herbst (3), and Maria Azarias (2) while the latter two plus Lauren Jones have cataloged at least a pair of assists as well.

  • Marlen Kelm has had little action on her end of the pitch but has still been effective nonetheless, saving three-of-four shots for a 0.58 GAA.
