Volleyball Uses An 11-4 Run In The Third Set To Sweep The Tigers On Senior Day

 
PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University volleyball program honored its lone senior, libero Leah Stamps, prior to its noon match versus Paul Quinn College and came back from down 20-15 in the third set with an 11-4 swing to sweep PQC out of the building.

Wildcats Top Performers:
 
  • Kate Campbell had a career night, tallying her first ever double-double by way of personal-highs regarding points (13, 3.25 p/s), kills (12, 3.00 p/s), and digs (10, 2.50 p/s), to go along with a .405 hitting percentage plus the squad's lone solo block.
 
  • The woman of the hour, Stamps, dropped her third 20-burger of the season for digs (20, 6.67 p/s) and got an unexpected kill, just her third of 2023.
 
  • For the second consecutive day, Katie Spell raised the bar higher for her career-highs, lifting them to 18 kills (6.00 p/s) and 19 points (6.33 p/s) in a dominant weekend of work while also hitting .385.
 
  • Stop me if you have heard this before . . . Emma Cother had a double-double. Cother averaged 14 assists and 4.67 digs per set for totals of 42 and 14, respectively. It was the sophomore's fourth double-double in-a-row, dating through last weekend's trip to HTU.
 
  • Kate Campbell posted back-to-back double-figure kill performances, smashing the ball with authority on her way to 11 kills.
 
Notes:
 
  • Louisiana Christian is back at .500 in the Red River and is now only two wins away from tying the program record for most wins in a single season (11) as they sit at 9-5 through 14 matches.
 
  • Less than 24 hours after setting a conference-best hitting percentage of .243, the Cats turn around and set a new season-high mark of .250
