Football Does Not Move In Rankings Nor Vote Tally After Close Call At OPSU

10/3/2023 12:00:00 PM

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Louisiana Christian University football program survived a back-and-forth thriller with Oklahoma Panhandle State on Saturday and as such, the needle did not move on their ranking or their vote tally, remaining at 27th in the NAIA with 20 votes.

LCU moved its state-long winning streak to 11-in-a-row with the triumph, taking down the last team to beat the Wildcats with a 29-17 escape act last weekend after the Aggies clipped the Cats in an eerily similar score of 28-16 on nearly the exact same date one year prior, October 1, 2022.

The other SAC teams in the first poll of Breast Cancer Awareness Month were the #20 Texas Wesleyan Rams and #25 Ottawa (Arizona) Spirit who also remained relatively unchanged in the rankings as they each made quick work of Arkansas Baptist (62-0) and Wayland Baptist (59-6), respectively.

The next potential victim on the menu for Louisiana Christian is North American University who travels to Pineville for a 2 p.m. tilt on Saturday with the home side looking for its 12th consecutive victory inside the fortress known as Wildcat Field.
