PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University men's soccer program will head into next weekend's Red River Athletic Conference Tournament as the second overall seed as it looks to make it back to its second straight championship game after a 0-0 stalemate with fellow contender occurred late into Louisiana Saturday Night.

Wildcats Top Performers:
 

• Rodrigo Silva collected his sixth complete game shutout of the season, ranking top-30 in the NAIA coming into the night in that category, registering a pair of saves in addition to facing six errant shot attempts as well.

 

• Adrian Amoros Navarro was the only player for the home side to get multiple shots off over the full 90 minutes, posting two with one being on-goal.

 

• Thiago Lopes, Lucas Lima, Fabian Perez, and Sergio Pita Martin all landed their one shot accurately while Shakeem Walters and senior Natty Essomba were able to send the ball in the general vicinity of the goal, but not between the sticks.

 
Notes:
 

• With a second-place allotment, Head coach David Castillo's men improved their seeding by one spot compared to the 2022 campaign as LCU made its run to the title match as a #3 seed a year ago.

 
Next:
 

• Ties are officially in the rearview mirror moving forward as from hereon out, the old overtime rules will be in effect throughout the entire postseason with penalty kick shootouts being the ultimate decider if the score remains deadlocked.

 

• The #2 Wildcats will host #7 seed Texas A&M-San Antonio sometime in the next seven days during the RRAC Quarterfinals, with the Cats and Jags also succumbing to a zero-all tie in their previous meeting back on October 19.
