Men Locked Into 2nd Seed For RRAC Tournament After Scoreless Tie Vs. XULA

 
PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian University men's soccer program will head into next weekend's Red River Athletic Conference Tournament as the second overall seed as it looks to make it back to its second straight championship game after a 0-0 stalemate with fellow contender occurred late into Louisiana Saturday Night.

  • Rodrigo Silva collected his sixth complete game shutout of the season, ranking top-30 in the NAIA coming into the night in that category, registering a pair of saves in addition to facing six errant shot attempts as well.
 
  • Adrian Amoros Navarro was the only player for the home side to get multiple shots off over the full 90 minutes, posting two with one being on-goal.

  • With a second-place allotment, Head coach David Castillo's men improved their seeding by one spot compared to the 2022 campaign as LCU made its run to the title match as a #3 seed a year ago.

  • Ties are officially in the rearview mirror moving forward as from hereon out, the old overtime rules will be in effect throughout the entire postseason with penalty kick shootouts being the ultimate decider if the score remains deadlocked.
