Chaotic Five-Minute Stretch Leads Wildcats To Unpredictable Win

 
ROUND ROCK, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University men's soccer program went through a whirlwind of emotions between the 65th and 70th minutes as the Cats scored three times and the Rams once in that short spurt with LCU tacking on a garbage time goal in the last two minutes to end up with a wild roller coaster of a 4-1 victory.

Wildcats Top Performers:
 
  • Adrian Amoros Navarro is a point-scoring machine and today was no different dropping four points on the helpless Rams with a goal plus two assists in addition to a match-high four shots / SOGs.
 
  • Sergio Pita Martin found the back of the net for the fourth time in as many matches, putting the game-winner through the posts in the 68th minute, unassisted.
 
  • Lucas Lima produced his first goal of the campaign to open the scoring with just under 25 minutes remaining in the match while Shakeem Walters gave the Cats some much-needed insurance about five minutes later with his sixth of the year.
   
  • Rodrigo Silva put together a five-save outing for the fourth time and a save percentage at 83.3% on his way to win number eight for the campaign.
 
Notes:
 
  • The Orange and Blue have now dropped at least a trio of goals in all but two of its RRAC competitions so far, with the only exceptions being Saturday's shutout loss and a 2-1 thriller over Jarvis Christian.
 
  • LCU logged its second-highest shot (24) and shots-on-goal (13) totals of 2023 behind the blowout of Texas College on top of a season-high nine corner kicks.

  • A cage match is set to take place Saturday at Houston-Victoria when the Jaguars and Wildcats battle it out at 3:30 p.m. in another tussle between first place clubs.
