VICTORIA, Texas – The Louisiana Christian University men's soccer program's offense has been enhanced by the scoring prowess of Spanish striker Sergio Pita Martin all season long, scoring twice at UHV on Saturday to give him at least one goal in seven-of-nine (77.8%) RRAC contests including multiple goals in three of the past five (60%) matches.

Wildcats Top Performers:

  • Pita Martin took the air out of any comebacks the home 11 had in mind, posting goal numbers 10/11 in the 50th/88th minutes, respectively, while playing a grand total of 24 minutes off the bench.

  • Lucas Lima scored for the second consecutive match and his first career game-winner, striking quickly with a goal less than ten minutes into the tilt to set the tone.

  • Adrian Amoros Navarro served up a pair of assists for the second time in three days, putting him at an even ten on the campaign as he has exactly one-third of the club's helpers in 2023 (10-of-30).

  • That's complete game shutout number five for Rodrigo Silva and the sixth overall for LCU, stopping all three shots that were ticketed for the net.

Notes:

  • The Orange and Blue have now dropped at least a trio of goals in all but two of its RRAC competitions so far, with the only exceptions being the shutout loss at LSU Shreveport and a 2-1 thriller over Jarvis Christian.

  • Louisiana Christian's defense completely clamped down after making halftime adjustments, not allowing Houston-Victoria to get a single shot off over the final 45 minutes after taking nine (three on-goal) in the first half.

Next:

  • Home is where the Wildcats live, and the men will not have to leave Pineville again until it's time for the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament as it kicks off the home stretch Thursday at 7:30 p.m. versus a different set of Jaguars from TAMUSA.
