PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian men's soccer team won its Red River Athletic Conference season-opener Thursday with a 2-1 win over Huston-Tillotson.
The Wildcats (4-2-1) rallied from a 1-0 deficit at the half to score two goals early in the second half to get the victory.
The Rams took a 1-0 lead at the 40:25 mark when Mac Justin Reyes scored off an assist from Jommar Reyes.
LCU would tie the game at the 53rd minute on a penalty kick goal from midfielder Alvaro Tudanca, his first goal of the year.
Less than two minutes later, Tudanca found sophomore defender Paul Richter, who netted what proved to be the winning goal at 55:14. It was Richter's second goal of the season. The Wildcats defense held off the Rams the rest of the way for the win.
