PINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana Christian men's soccer team remained undefeated in the early portion of their Red River Athletic Conference play following a 2-2 tie with the University of Houston-Victoria Saturday.
The Wildcats (4-2-2/1-0-1) needed a second half goal on a penalty kick from midfielder Alvaro Tudanca at the 77:08 mark to earn the tie, as LCU scored both the first and last goals of another hard-fought game with the Jaguars.
LCU took a 1-0 lead in the game when Shakeem Walters scored his second goal of the year off an assist by Sergio Pita Martin at 13:24.
The Jaguars scored the game's next two goals early in the second half. First, Adam Thompson scored his first goal of the year at the 56:54 mark to tie the game at 1-1. Seven minutes later, Gabriel Rojas scored his first goal of the year, as Houston-Victoria took the 2-1 lead at 77:08.
The Wildcats would finish the game with 11 shots on goal to 8 for Houston-Victoria. Martin Hernandez finished with 3 saves for LCU.
The Wildcats take to the road for their next game, a 3:30 p.m. start Thursday against Texas A&M-San Antonio in San Antonio.
