PINEVILLE – Louisiana Christian University's athletics program has continued to reach new heights during the Fall 2022 semester as three traditional fall sports teams – volleyball, men's soccer and women's soccer – reached the postseason.
 
The LCU volleyball team will play their first postseason match this morning in New Orleans when the Wildcats face Jarvis Christian in the opening round of the Red River Athletic Conference Volleyball Tournament at Xavier University. First serve is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.
 
In its sixth season, the volleyball team has followed in the soccer teams' footsteps of success since LCU joined the NAIA and the RRAC in time for the 2021-22 season.
 
The Wildcat men's soccer team has its sights set on their first conference championship Saturday after defeating Houston–Victoria in the conference semifinal round Thursday. LCU kicks off against top-seeded LSU–Shreveport on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Texarkana, Texas.
 
LCU's men's and women's soccer teams both qualified for the RRAC Tournament for the second consecutive year since joining the conference. The defending RRAC champion, LCU's women's soccer team bowed out in a hard-fought 2-0 match at Our Lady of the Lake last week.
 
With a 10-2-6 overall record, the men's soccer team enjoyed their finest season since 2013, when they reached the American Southwest Conference postseason tournament as an NCAA Division III member institution.
 
Meanwhile, the women's historic 2021 season saw the Wildcats finish 16-2-1 en route to the RRAC Championship and claim a berth into the NAIA Tournament. Their 24 wins in their two seasons in the NAIA matched the team's win total from their last decade as a Division III program.
