Wildcats Drop 2-0 Decision to (RV) Houston-Victoria

LC Can't Turn Momentum Following Scoreless First Half

VICTORIA, Texas – The Louisiana College men's soccer team looked to bounce back from a conference opening defeat, but two second half goals was too much to overcome as the Wildcats dropped a 2-0 decision to the (RV) Houston-Victoria Jaguars Saturday afternoon at The Cage.

After a scoreless first half, Houston-Victoria found both of its goals within the first 20 minutes of the second half, hitting the back of the net in the 54th and 63rd minutes.

Much of the run of play went against the Wildcats, with LC only able to get three shots off during the 90 minutes. Alvaro Tudanca took two of the three, including the lone shot to be put on frame. Arturo Riestra Torrejon took LC's lone other shot in the contest.

Luke Craigie (1-2) was under pressure most of the match as 16 UHV shots were fired his way. While 14 of the 16 were wide of the frame and posed no threat, the two that were on target were unable to be saved.

The Wildcats (5-3, 0-2 RRAC) hope home field has its advantages on Thursday as LC looks for its first conference win of the season against Texas A&M-San Antonio. Kickoff of Thursday's match against the Jaguars (0-2-1, 0-1-1 RRAC) is set for 7:30 P.M., or roughly 20 minutes following the conclusion of the women's match, at Wildcat Field.
