The Louisiana College Wildcat traveled to Hendrix College to face the Warriors in Conway, ARK. for a final tune-up before American Southwest Conference play.
An overtime goal was needed to separate the two, Safin Attwal broke the Wildcats hearts in the 98th minute to finish 3-2.
The scoreline did not reflect the game; the Wildcats were dominating the first 38 minutes until the Warriors were able to grab their first.
Eli Brizendine headed in Christian Perez's cross, displacing the Cats. The Cats were unsettled, the Warriors were not letting up.
A quick second goal after a Cat mental breakdown gave the Warriors the momentum leading into the half. A cross caught the Cats out of place and Abe Studor made them pay for it.
Determined not to let the Warriors walk away with the game, a continued attack eventually paid off. In the 57th minute,
Jason Rodriguez beat Lamar Curtis to bring the Cats within one.
They were not finished there, less than 20 minutes later in the 74th,
Jay Pinto beat Curtis as well with a beautiful upper 90 shot to level the game at two apiece.
90 minutes was not enough to determine a winner, two overtime periods were added with the next goal winning.
The Cats had an early chance in the first overtime to seal the game,
Leo Urumovski blasted his shot inside the box Curtis made the crucial save.
Minutes later Hendrix was able to earn a corner and substitute Attwal tucked his shot to the side netting to win the game 3-2.
The Wildcats travel to Jackson, Miss. to face to the Blazers of Belhaven University in the ASC opener, kicking off at 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
