Wildcats Swept by Tigers



The Louisiana College volleyball team wrapped up play on the road Saturday afternoon with a match against rival East Texas Baptist University. The Wildcats were set down in straight sets on the afternoon 25-20, 25-17, 25-10. The Wildcats will travel to Richardson, Texas for the second American Southwest Conference crossover weekend next Friday and Saturday.
 
The Wildcats found themselves down early to ETBU in the first set 4-0 before Paris Babino got the scoring going for the LC. They would eventually work their way back to within a pair on two different occasions in the first set. Two kills by Sadi Jones and a couple of bad sets from the Tigers gave LC a chance last to pull closer at 23-20, but ETBU closed the first on an LC attack error and a kill to take the 1-0 match lead.
 
The next two sets played out in similar fashion as the Wildcats would go down early by scores of 6-1 and 5-1. In the second set the Wildcats battled back to within a pair, like they had done in the first, but the Tigers were too much to keep off the scoreboard, finding kill after kill on the offensive attack. The third and final set slipped through the hands of the Wildcats as the Tigers closed the match on a 7-0 run that included two aces and two LC errors to seal the fate of the Wildcats on the afternoon.
 
The team will travel to the University of Texas at Dallas next weekend for the second ASC crossover where they will take on Sul Ross State on Friday and Hardin-Simmons and McMurry on Saturday.
