The Louisiana College football team will face off with McMurry University this Saturday afternoon in Abilene, Texas in another American Southwest Conference matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. from Wilford Moore Stadium and can be heard live on 104.3 FM The Bridge.

LC (2-3, 2-2 ASC) is coming off a tough loss to Texas Lutheran University last week 41-36 in a game that featured multiple missed chances for the Wildcats, along with some self-inflicted wounds. The Wildcats forced three fumbles but were only able to six points on the board, and could not bring in at least three interceptions on defense that would have turned the tables in the game even further.

The Wildcats relied on the passing game to move the down the field, putting the football in the air over 50 times on the night. In his second start of the season quarterback Mason Jordan was 25-of-56 for 410 yards with five touchdown passes, but two costly interceptions. The first leading to the first score of the game as it was returned to the endzone and the second on the final drive of the game inside TLU territory that sealed the Bulldogs victory.

McMurry's quarterback Kevin Hurley is also coming off two stellar performances over the last three weeks including a 350 yard passing four total touchdown night in the War Hawks 27-20 win over Belhaven last week. Hurley has been the catalyst for the War Hawk offense that ranks sixth in the ASC in total yards at 344.7 per game but is allowing more than 500 per game to their opponents, more than half of that coming on the ground.

"Our guys are hungry to get back into stride," Coach Justin Charles said. "The leaders on the team understand that this is another work week. No matter who we're playing against we want to come out and make a statement win. Going to Abilene has never been easy, but we're going to go out and give everything we've got stride by stride."

Saturday's game will be broadcast live on The Bridge 104.3 FM and through the station's web site beginning with the pre-game show starting at 12:30. McMurry will provide live stats and video via links provided at www.lcwildcats.net.

The Wildcats will return home for two straight games at Wildcat Stadium next week as they host East Texas Baptist University on October 20 on CenLA Appreciation Night where all fans will be admitted to the game for free. Then on October 27, LC will host Belhaven University on for the 2018 Homecoming Game. Both games will kickoff at 6 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.
