OKLAHOMA CITY – The #14/#12 Louisiana Christian University football team picked up two more Sooner Athletic Conference weekly honors as
EJ Scott was named the Offensive Player of the Week and
Preston Baker earned the Special Teams Player of the Week nod, the conference office announced Monday.
Scott, a junior wide receiver from Alexandria, La., made five catches for 80 yards in the 69-6 win over Texas College on Saturday. His receptions went for an average of 16 yards, and he took three all the way to the end zone for touchdowns. His longest reception of the day went for 46 yards and a score. His other two scoring catches went for three yards and 20 yards. This is Scott's first career SAC Offensive Player of the Week award.
Baker, a sophomore kicker and punter from Gonzales, La., made all nine of his point after touchdown attempts but punting was where he separated himself. He punted three times for an average of 48.3 yards per punt with his three punts being downed at the Texas College 11 and twice at the one-yard line, forcing the Steers to try and traverse the entire field. This is Baker's second Special Teams Player of the Week award for both the 2026 season and his LCU career with the honor being bestowed upon him on Sept. 28 as well.
Louisiana Christian has now won a total of 10 Player of the Week honors this season with Wildcats being honored in five separate weeks, having swept the three awards twice so far in 2026.
The #14/#12 Wildcats (8-1, 6-0 SAC) will now enjoy their bye week before wrapping up their three-game road trip on Sat., Nov. 7 in Little Rock against Arkansas Baptist. Kickoff of the game against the Buffaloes (2-7, 2-4 SAC) is set for 2 p.m. at Earl Quigley-Bernie Cox Stadium and will be live streamed on YouTube thanks to 446Sports.
