Lady Wildcats Fall 1-0 on Senior Day

Saturday afternoon the Lady Wildcats faced the Patriots of the Univ. of Texas at Tyler in a regular season American Southwest Conference matchup. Three seniors were honored for senior day, Emily Bryant, Jaime Trahan, and Isabella Santamaria. Tyler would outlast the Cats with 10 players 1-0 after Landri Edwards headed home a score in the 52nd minute.

The game was one-sided in Tyler's favor. Controlling the possession and flow of the game, the Patriots were finally able to crack the hardened LC defense. Trying 30 shots and landing 19 within the frame of goal the Patriots were incredibly aggressive. Preventing a higher score, Cat keeper Haley Clark stopped 18 of the shots.

But one she wishes she had back was a 52nd minute shot that would later win the game.The Cats were not fully outfitted in the second half. Seconds before the end of the first half, McKenna Raines received her second yellow and an ejection from the game dropping the Cats to 10 players.

The Patriots were able to take advantage of the number difference and steal the win. Crossing the ball into the box, Patriot Landri Edwards broke free from her defender and headed the ball past Clark. The Wildcats continued their staunch defensive effort the remainder of the match, holding the talented Patriots to just the one goal, down a player, for 45 minutes.

Unable to recover from the score, the Cats dropped to 2-13-2(1-11) on the season. The next step for the Cats is the off-season where they will work to improve and return stronger for next season.
