WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. – The Louisiana Christian University women's soccer team jumped ahead of Williams Baptist in the 26
th minute, but a late first half equalizer and a penalty kick in the second half led to the Wildcats' undoing in a 2-1 loss to the Eagles Monday at the WBU Soccer Field.
Louisiana Christian (2-2-1) got its lead in the 26
th minute as
Isabella Urbaneto jumped on a loss ball in the midfield and was able to slide a perfectly placed pass right in the path of
Izzy Childs who beat the goalkeeper for the 1-0 Wildcat lead.
Williams Baptist (4-0-1) was able to get that goal back 10 minutes later, scoring on a free kick which leveled the score at 1-1. The Eagles found the game-winner in the 67
th minute as a foul in the box produced a penalty kick for WBU, which was converted for the 2-1 score.
Childs' goal was her third of the season, all coming since Saturday when she scored a brace against Centenary. She took two shots in the match, putting both on target.
Urbaneto's assist on the goal was her third of the year. She also took two shots in the match with one on frame.
Katie Bulmer led all Wildcats with three shots in the match, though none were on frame.
Marie White took two shots and put one on target.
Sara Mendivelso (1-1) played the second half and made three saves, though she conceded the penalty kick goal.

The Wildcats get a bit of a rest before the final non-conference match of the season starts a three-match home stand as Texas Wesleyan comes to Wildcat Field next week. Kickoff of the match against the Rams (2-0-1) is set for 5 p.m. on Thurs., Sept. 17 at Wildcat Field.
