10/27/2017 10:49:00 AM

Box Score

Starting the final two games of the season at home, the Louisiana College women's soccer team faced off against the Univ. of the Ozarks Eagles in an American Southwest Conference fixture Thursday night. Two goals were the difference in the game that separated the Lady Wildcats and the Eagles.

A first-half goal from Georgia Warren in the 37th was the game winner and a second by Chance Koy in the 51st put away the Cats. The two shots were from around the 18 yard-box; Warren's was a right-footed chip and Koy's a right-footed volley.

The Eagles were in control of the match, outshooting the Cats 18-5, 10 on frame of goal for the Eagles and four for the Cats, while also having more chances from corners with six opportunities on the night compared to LC's one.

Freshman midfielder Molly Edelman led the Cats with two shots on frame. LC keeper Haley Clark finished the contest with eight saves and Eagles' keeper with four. Clark had seven saves in the second half, trying anything to keep the score close.

The Cats (2-12-2, 1-10) finish out the season 2 p.m. Saturday against ASC rival Univ. of Texas at Tyler Patriots. The match will serve as senior day for Emily Bryant, Isabella Santamaria, and Jaime Trahan. Recognition for the three seniors will begin at approximately 1:30pm before the 2pm kickoff from Wildcat Stadium. For more on the Lady Wildcats follow them on Facebook under Louisiana College Women's Soccer and Twitter at LC_WSOC.
