Box Score

The Louisiana College Men's Soccer Team faced off against the Badgers of Spring Hill College Friday afternoon in Mobile, AL in a non-conference match. The Wildcats could not hold on to the quick passes and fluid movement of the Badgers giving up nine goals and not being able to get one back for themselves.

The Wildcats were able to keep up with the Badger attack to start the game, but a quick one-two between Matthew Moreno and Alaya Brito in the 12th minute would end the deadlock. Moreno put a grounded cross into the box and following the pass Brito calmly placed the ball past Cat keeper Nathan Gautreaux.

The Badgers would strike again minutes later in the 15th minute when Viktor Kvarnlof crossed the ball into the box but a mishandling from Gautreaux made it two to zero. The keeper came out for the cross and when he jumped for the ball he made contact with a player in the mix and hit the ball into the net.

The shell-shocked Wildcats would not recover from the second goal and after the restart, Brito would add to his goal tally. Moving the ball down the field by quick passing in the midfield, the Badgers were back in LC's defense. Floating on top of the box, Brito took a one-time finish off of Michael Ness' pass and curved the shot to the upper 90 of the goal, leaving Gautreaux helpless. The first half scoring was not finished. At the 36th minute mark, a Donte Oliver break away saw him and the keeper one on one and his shot was better than the dive to bring it to 4-0.

The Wildcats were not ready to start the second half of play, giving up a fifth goal a few seconds in. The Badgers attacked down the middle with one touch passes setting up Ibrahima Ndaw for a one on one with the keeper. Sliding the shot underneath Gautreaux's dive Ndaw grabbed his first of the game in the 46th minute.

Ndaw added a second goal a few minutes later. Repeating the quick movement as before the Badgers were back in front of goal.  Ndaw again was one on one with Gautreaux and mimicked his prior goal to make it 6-0 in the 49th minute. Tilman Schober would make it 7-0 grabbing his first goal of the game also in the 49th minute. Completing his hat-trick in the 55th minute, Ndaw again broke free of the LC defense and beat the keeper on a one on one. The final goal came in the 79th minute when Zach Witt got on the end of Callum Porter's low cross across the box finishing it with a one-time finish.

The fall to 1-11 on the season and return to conference action next Thursday when they travel to Marshall, TX to face conference rival East Texas Baptist Univ. The game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. For more on the LC Men's Soccer Team following them on Facebook under Louisiana College Men's Soccer, Instagram and twitter at LC_MSOC.
