The Louisiana College Lady Wildcats women's soccer team suffered their second loss of the season on Wednesday night, 7-0, to the visiting Delta State Lady Statesmen.

The Wildcats spent the majority of the night playing a defensive game as Delta State forced the issue and possessed the ball for the bulk of the 90 minute game.  The Lady Statesmen totaled 14 shots in the first half managing three goals along the way in the 20th, 39th, and 44th minutes of the first half for a 3-0 lead going into the break.

LC suffered four more goals in the second half including a tough luck goal that slipped under goalkeeper McKenna Raines arm on a shot from the far right side, and a late penalty kick goal in the 88th minute.

The Wildcats had only a handful of chances on the offensive side with Ashlynn Folse and Lauren Bercegeay made runs at the Delta State defense but each time were turned away by the defenders or keeper.

LC will take on Evangel University from Springfield, MO in a women's and men's doubleheader this Saturday with the women's match beginning at 2 pm and the men at 4:30 pm at Wildcat Field.
