Wildcats Drop Season Opener to Texas College

The Louisiana College men's soccer team dropped their season and home opener of the 2016 season to the Texas College Steers, 3-0 on Thursday night at Wildcat Field. The Steers got goals from Confidence Ogo, Angel Estrada, and Sergio Herrera.

The Wildcats were outshot 9-2 over the course of 90 minutes and their best chances to score came in the second half when Jacob Johnson just missed chipping the Steers goal keeper and another pass from Johnson to Halco Hajdarevic on the right wing went just out of reach.

Nathan Gautreaux made several athletic saves of his five total saves in the game. Both team had players pick up their first yellow cards of the season, Halco Hajdarevic was booked for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats will travel to Birmingham, AL to take part in the Puma Labor Day Classic and take on Sewanee on Sunday and Birmingham-Southern on Monday. The next home game comes Saturday, September 10 against Evangel University.
