Lady Wildcats Fall to UT-Tyler in Game One

The Lady Wildcats were defeated by UT-Tyler, 3-1 in the first game of a three game series in Texas. The series will conclude with a double-header on Saturday with the first game starting at 1pm.

In the matchup of the top 2 pitching and defensive teams in the conference hits and runs were at a premium as both pitchers scattered the hits over the entire game. The Patriots led 3-0 at the end of the 5th inning when a double by Jayde Westbrook led to the first and only run of the game for LC on a sacrifice fly by Kourtney Herrera.

Savannah Settle (12-7) pitched well for the Wildcats, scattering the 7 Patriot hits over 7 innings and only allowing 3 total runs to score. Shelby Bergeron led the team at 2 or 3 in game one.

The double-header to close out the series will begin at 1pm Saturday. The Wildcats will return home next weekend to take on UT-Dallas for the regular season series finale.
