Softball Shutout on Road in Birmingham

In a mid-week doubleheader against Birmingham-Southern College the Louisiana College Lady Wildcats were kept off the score board in both games. Game one ended with a 4-0 loss to the Panthers and game two ended in a 3-0 loss. The two losses make the Lady Wildcats 16-10 on the season and still 14-4 in ASC play.

In game one the offense struggled to get things going against Panthers pitcher T Harkins as the Wildcats only got runners to second base on two seperate occoasions, in the 3rd and 4th innings, but couldn't advance them past there. Mattie Stine, Jordan Mason, and Morgan Dennis each had one hit a piece for the Lady Wildcats. Savannah Settle pitched 4.0 innings, giving up 6 hits and only 3 runs in the game one loss.

The second game proved to be a much more intense affair as both teams were held scoreless through five innings of play. Darian Thacker pitched 5.1 innings of shutout ball and only allowed 3 hits before Birmingham-Southern were able to get some key hits in the bottom of the 6th for their 3 runs of the game. Mattie Stine and Morgan Dennis each had 1 hit for LC in the game.

The Lady Wildcats will contine their Spring Break travel with a three game conference series at Mary Hardin-Baylor starting this Friday. There will be a doubleheader on Friday (Gm 1 - 3pm, Gm 2 - 5pm) and a single game on Saturday at 12pm.
