Softball Set for Conference Series With Hardin-Simmons

After a week of rain and postponements across all sports the LC Lady Wildcat Softball Team is preparing for a doubleheader this evening against Hardin-Simmons and a single game on Tuesday. The series that was originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday of last week.

The Lady Wildcats come into this ASC series with a record of 12-3 overall and 10-2 in ASC play, the most wins by any team thus far. Hardin-Simmons enters the series at 8-8 overall and 4-8 in conference play.

LC is led in the pitching circle by Sophomore Savannah Settle, who comes into the series with a perfect 9-0 record in 9 starts for the Lady Wildcats. Settle is averaging a conference best 9.7 strikeouts per game and has only allowed 11 runs to score in her 63.0 innings of work this year.

Offensively, the Lady Wildcats are led by Mattie Stine and Jayde Westbrook. Stine has a .432 batting average and a .519 on base percentage, while Westbrook comes in batting .340 on the season with a team high 12 runs scored.

First pitch of tonight's doubleheader is scheduled for 5pm for game one and 7pm for game two. The finale of the series is set for Tuesday afternoon at 4pm.
