Lady Wildcats Fall on Senior Night

10/28/2016 3:02:00 PM

Box Score
The Louisiana College Lady Wildcats soccer team closed out the 2016 regular season on Friday night honoring two seniors and hosting the UT Dallas Comets. Although the Wildcats came up short, losing 4-0, the team played with energy and effort for the entire 90 minutes.

The Comets controlled most of the game play throughout the first half, scoring goals in the 14th and 40th minute to take a 2-0 lead into the half. Dallas managed to take 19 total shots in the first half and held the Wildcats from getting an opportunity to attack the opposing goal. In the second half LC was able to win a free kick from 35-yards out and Jamie Trahan played a nice ball over the wall but it fell right to the keeper preventing any hopes of a rebound tap in goal for the Wildcats.

UTD would add two more goals in a substitution filled second half, in the 46th and 56th minutes and go on to out shoot the Wildcats 39-1 and 18-1 in shots on goal. McKenna Raines was able to make 14 saves in the game.

Before the game the Wildcats honored the following two senior players for the time, energy, and effort they have given to the program for the past four years.

#14 Megan Mouton
Megan hails for Lafayette, LA and has played in a total of 50 games for the Wildcats with 17 starts. She is an Elementary education major with a certification in Pre-K and an additional certification in Special Education.  During her time at LC, Megan has been a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and is president of the Best Buddies Club for special education student.
Megan is thankful for her parents who have supported her through 18 long years of soccer and been by her side through all of the injuries. She said, "There is now way I would have come this far without them, much less moved away from home to play without their support.  They have continued to get me through all of my rants and tear filled conversations without complaining one time. They have continued to support me for every home game and any away game they could make, whether I was playing or hurt on the sideline. My brothers have also always been there to talk me through all of my injuries when my mom wanted me to stop playing to heal properly.  They were always there to tell me she was just being a mom and would come around eventually."  Mouton is also thankful for her best friend and teammate Jaime Trahan who was always by her side on and off the field.
