Box Score

The Louisiana College men's soccer team played the first of their final two road matches of the season on Tuesday night against Milsaps College in Jackson, MS.  Although the end result was not in the Wildcats favor the team continued to battle throughout the game and for the first time this season got on the scoreboard first in a match.  The LC men and women will play their final road matches of the season on Saturday when they travel to Jackson to take on Belhaven.

The Widcats were able to take the lead for the first time this season after holding off a quick attack by Milsaps that resulted in four saves by Nathan Gautreaux in the first 20 minutes of the game and several more shots by the Majors. LC's speedster striker Jacob Johnson was able to take advantage of a Milsaps mistake and found the back of the net with the help of Nik Kalaj in the 23rd minute.  The lead did not last long however, as the Majors were able to find the equalizer just three minutes later on a goal by Nico Roth.

From that point on the Majors were able to control the play of the game, keeping the possesion and tallying 38 shots to the Wildcats seven and also picking up 12 total corner kicks in the game. Nathan Gautreaux made 10 total saves and Halco Hajdarevic, Nik Kalaj, and Jacob Johnson all produced shots on goal in the game.

The Wildcats final road test of the season will take them back to Jackson on Saturday to take on Belhaven before returning to Wildcat Field next week for the final two games of the season.  They will host Howard Payne next Thursday at 6:30pm and hold their Senior Day activities on next Saturday the 29th before the match against UT-Dallas at 12pm.
