Women's soccer falls to Delta State 5-0

The Louisiana College Lady Wildcats prepped themselves for a tough stretch of upcoming American Southwest Conference games on Tuesday night, as they traveled to Cleveland, Mississippi to take on Division II opponent Delta State.

The Lady Cats played a tough first half, as they went into halftime trailing just 2-0, but DSU was able to pull away in the second half of play, eventually coming away with a 5-0 win in non-conference action.

DSU got on the board less than three minutes into the match, as Cami Segura Sevilla found the back of the net off an assist from Tais Cotta to go up 1-0 early.

The Lady Cats' back line would hold tough for the rest of the first half until Kailey Bryan put DSU up 2-0 in the 43rd minute with a goal off an assist from Hillary Wall to go into the locker room with a two goal advantage.

DSU would add three more goals in the second half to walk away with the 5-0 victory, as they out shot LC 22-3 on the. Jayme Harmon registered all three shots for the Lady Cats.

LC (3-7 overall, 0-4 in ASC play) will return home on Thursday for an ASC matchup against Sul Ross State. That match will begin at 4 p.m. at Wildcat Field on LC's campus.
