Box ScoreUpdated Season StatsThe Louisiana College men's soccer team faced a tough test in their American Southwest Conference opener, as the undefeated Concordia Tornados came to Pineville on Thursday night for a highly anticipated matchup.
Â
Despite taking a 1-0 lead into the half, the Tornados would ultimately fight back to take a 1-0 win.
Â
The Wildcats struck first 16 minutes into the first half, as
Josh Randon scored his first goal of the season on a beautiful cross from sophomore
Boneco Bazil after Bazil weaved through several Tornado defenders to find Randon for a beautifully executed score.
Â
LC would hold onto that 1-0 lead until early in the second half when Concordia tied the match at 1-1 when Diego Outerial scored three minutes into the second half to even the score.
Â
Outerial would strike again just eight minutes later when he took a pass from Alejandra Labastida to put the Tornados up 2-1, which proved to be the eventual final score.
Â
The Wildcats (0-5, 0-1 in ASC play) will take on the Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. at Wildcat Field to close out their current homestand. Â
