The Louisiana College Lady Wildcats won their season opener 3-1 on Tuesday afternoon at Wildcat Field over Texas College in the debut game for first-year head coach Samantha Etherington.

The two teams would go scoreless through the first nine minutes of the match until Texas College's Hawa Na Aata broke the scoreless draw with a goal at the 9:41 mark of the first half to put the Steers ahead 1-0.
 
The Lady Cats would answer later on the first half, however, as senior Jayme Harmon would find the back of the net less than six minutes before the end of the half to tie the match 1-1.
 
Harmon would strike again midway through the second half as she scored the go-ahead, and eventual game-winning goal, in the 67^th minute of the second half off assists from Chelsea Lee and Bianca Jimenez.
 
Jimenez would score the first goal of her young career late in the second half as she found the back of the net in the 81^st minute to put the game away at 3-1.
 
The Lady Wildcats (1-0) have two more games on their current homestand, which will continue on Friday at 4 p.m. against Millsaps at Wildcat Field.
