The 18th ranked Louisiana College softball team finished off a three-game sweep of Howard Payne by winning their series finale against the Lady Yellow Jackets by a final score of 13-0 on Friday in Brownwood, Texas.

The Lady Wildcats led 5-0 heading into the sixth inning, but a huge eight-run seventh inning for LC put them over the top, as they eventually cruised to the 13-0 win in ASC action.

LC would not get their first runs of the day until the third inning, when Jayde Westbrook drove in Jordan Mason and Heather Scully after a fielding error by HPU allowed both to eventually score, putting the Lady Cats up 2-0.

The Lady Wildcats would plate three more in the sixth inning as Mattie Stine drove in Mason and Laura Gullotta-Parrish and Abby Maillet later drove in catcher Courtney Ivey on a sac fly to stretch LC's lead out to 5-0.

The eight-run seventh inning was boosted by three HPU errors, as LC sent 13 batters to the plate to put the game out of reach for the Lady Jackets and secure the win.

Freshman third baseman Regan Lejeune led LC at the plate, collecting four hits in her four at-bats while Jordan Mason went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and a stolen base.

Freshman right-handed pitcher Savannah Settle tossed her fourth complete game shutout in her last five starts, as she went all seven innings and allowed just three hits while striking out seven to win her 12th game of the season.

The Lady Wildcats move to 20-5 overall with a 15-2 record in ASC play. They will play a rare midweek ASC series against LeTourneau University next week beginning with a doubleheader on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. in Pineville.
