The 18th ranked Louisiana College Lady Wildcats fell to 3rd ranked East Texas Baptist by a final score of 4-1 in a highly anticipated matchup of Top 25 ASC teams on Tuesday night in Marshall, Texas.

LC freshman right-hander Savannah Settle battled throughout the night despite suffering just her second loss of the season, as ETBU starting pitcher and All-American candidate Shelby Parker was outstanding, throwing all seven innings while striking out 15 and allowing just three hits and one run.

The Lady Tigers got off to a fast start, scoring two runs on three hits in the bottom of the bottom of the first inning while Parker struck out seven of the first nine LC batters she faced to jump out on top 2-0.

ETBU would add some more cushion in the bottom of the fifth inning on a pair of home runs to go ahead 4-0.

LC would score their only run of the game in the top of the seventh inning, as Lady Wildcat senior catcher Courtney Ivey, who had two of LC's three hits on the night, roped a pitch from Parker over the left field wall for her fourth home run of the year.

Louisiana College falls to 23-6 on the season with an 18-3 mark in ASC play while ETBU moves to 23-2 with a 19-2 mark in ASC play to go ahead of the Lady Wildcats by one game in the conference standings.

Despite the loss, the Lady Cats will have an opportunity to jump ahead of the Lady Tigers in the ASC standings with a pair of wins of Wednesday. Wednesday's doubleheader has been moved back and will now begin at 4:00 p.m. in Marshall.
