Playing for the second night in a row after taking on no. 5 LSU-Alexandria on Monday night, the Louisiana College Wildcats fell to in-state Division I opponent Nicholls State on Tuesday in Thibodaux by a final score of 80-62 in the Cats final game before American Southwest Conference play begins on Thursday.

The Colonels, who led 36-27 at halftime, used a huge run early in the second half to pull away from the Wildcats and take the 80-62 win.

LC had a rough night shooting from behind the arc, as they went just 1-for-15 (6.7%) and turned the ball over 20 times which resulted in 22 points off turnovers for Nicholls State.

The Wildcats also found themselves in foul trouble throughout most of the game, as 30 personal fouls resulted in 35 free throw opportunities for the Colonels.

Seniors Kevin Lewis (17 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists) and Kevin Cottonham (12 points, 2 assists) led the way for LC on the night.

The Wildcats (1-4 overall) will wipe the slate clean heading into Thursday night's matchup against Hardin-Simmons, as LC will face the Cowboys at the H.O. West Fieldhouse in the ASC opener for both teams.
