Marshall, TX - The Louisiana College men's basketball team came up just short in their attempt to collect their first conference win of the season on Thursday night, as they fell 78-68 to 22nd ranked East Texas Baptist in Marshall, Texas.

The Wildcats struggled all night shooting from the field and from the free throw line, going 0-for-11 from beyond the three-point line and just 10-for-19 (52.6%) from the charity stripe.

Despite forcing 21 Tiger turnovers, LC had just five assists compared to 19 team turnovers, 15 of which came in the first half.

ETBU guard Bret Atkins was nearly unstoppable, as he scored 27 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field, including a perfect 4-for-4 night from behind the three-point arc.

LC's Anthony Gaines, Jr. led LC with 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals while junior center Raheem Regis tied Gaines, Jr. with a team-high 19 points and 7 rebounds.

Kevin Lewis also reached double figures in scoring for the Wildcats, scoring 12 points to go along with 4 steals before the senior guard fouled out in the second half.

The Wildcats (2-6 overall, 0-2 in ASC play) will get a much needed break before they take the court again on December 19th against Sul Ross State in Alpine, Texas.
