The Louisiana College Lady Wildcats fell to 9th ranked Texas-Tyler 5-0 on Thursday night at Wildcat Field, as the Patriots used five first half goals to remain undefeated on the season and keep their stronghold on the top of American Southwest Conference standings.

UT-Tyler looked every bit the part of a top-10 nationally ranked team, as they accounted for 27 total shots and 18 shots on goal, 16 of which came in the first half.

The Patriots got their first goal of the match less than a minute in, as Brittany Matthews scored off an assist from Kayla Akin to put UT-Tyler ahead 1-0 just 19 seconds into the contest.

Akin would score a goal of her own in the 15th minute of the first half and was followed with goals from Nikki Gordon, Morgan Monzingo, and Maci Feliz to give the Patriots a 5-0 lead after the first 45 minutes.

The Lady Wildcats have a much better second half defensively, as they allowed just two shots on goal in the final 45 minutes, but it was not enough to overcome to large first half deficit as the Patriots moved to 11-0-1 on the season after the 5-0 win.

LC (3-12 overall, 0-7 in ASC play) will play at home again on Friday as they take on the University of the Ozarks at 4 p.m. at Wildcat Field.
