The Louisiana College men's soccer team took on a familiar opponent on Thursday afternoon, as they traveled to Clinton, Mississippi to take on former American Southwest Conference foe, and current Division II member Mississppi College

MC gained the upperhand early on in the match as was able to keep the pressure on, taking a 4-0 lead into halftime on their way to an 8-0 win over the Wildcats in non-conference play.

MC's Conor Corboy put the Choctaws on the board first in the seventh minute of the match on a goal off an assist from Kendall Carballo to put the home team up 1-0 early.

Carballo was not finished from there, as he finished with two goals an three assist on the night to lead the Choctaws to the 8-0 win.

LC's Brandon Obey and Daniel Delva both had shots on goal for the Wildcats, both of which were stopped by MC keeper Humberto Pelaez to keep the Cats off the board.

The Wildcats (0-9 overall, 0-4 in ASC play) will return to Pineville on Saturday for another non-conference Homecoming weekend matchup against Paul Quinn College at Wildcat Field at 7 p.m. following LC's home football opener against Sul Ross State.
