Due to severe rain and lightning in the Baton Rouge area, the Louisiana College Lady Wildcats' match against Division I opponent Southern University was ruled a no-contest at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Thursday night.
Trailing 1-0 with 30 minutes remaining in the second half of play, the Lady Cats saw the match halted due to lightning strikes in the area. Unable to restart the match before the 8:00 p.m. deadline, the match was cancelled and declared a no-contest.
No make-up date is expected to be announced for the match.
The Lady Cats (0-6) will now have a two week break before their next match, which is the American Southwest Conference opener against Mary Hardin-Baylor on October 3rd at home in Wildcat Stadium. That matchup is slated to start at 4:00 p.m.
