The Louisiana College men's soccer team split their weekend road swing by shutting out Huntingdon College 3-0 on Friday before falling to Mobile University 4-1 on Saturday in a pair on non-conference matchups.

The Wildcats' lethal trio of young forwards (Rodrigo Neves, Pedro Silva, and Boneco Bazil) all scored goals in LC's 3-0 win over Huntingdon on Friday.

Neves would strike first in the 15th minute of the first half, as he gave LC the lead with a goal off of an assist from a beautiful corner kick by Boneco Bazil.

The Wildcats' defense would then shut the Hawks out for the rest of the half before Silva scored four minutes into the second half off an assist from Fernando Gutierrez for his second goal of the season.

Bazil would once again get involved in the 60th minute of the match, as he scored his third goal of the season off a feed from Cesar Romo to give LC the 3-0 advantage and the eventual final.

LC's defense was outstanding the entire match against Huntingdon, as they allowed just five shots, only two of which were on goal. Wildcat keeper Travis Alexander recorded his first career shutout in the 3-0 win.

Just as they previously did at home against Mississippi College a week before, LC used Saturday's game against Mobile University as an opportunity to change the starting lineup a bit and get as many players in-game experience as possible before conference play begins.

A stout defensive effort in the first half by the Wildcats put them in good position at halftime, as they trailed Mobile by just one goal at 1-0, but a second half hat trick by MU's Gaeton Massiah lifted the Rams to a 4-1 win.

Massiah scored in the 62nd, 67th, and 76th minutes of the second half to help lead MU to the win and complete the hat trick.

Pedro Silva would score his second goal of the weekend in the 68th minute off of an assist from Boneco Bazil to tie Bazil and Neves for the team-lead in goals scored on the year with three.

The weekend split brought the Wildcats season record to 3-3. LC will have nearly two weeks off before their next match, which is on the road against UT-Tyler on Friday September 26th in Tyler, TX. That will be followed by a match against LeTourneau in Longview, TX on the 27th. Both matches will be non-conference contests despite being played against ASC member schools.
