Box Score Box ScoreThe 2014 Louisiana College Lady Wildcats' soccer team opened their season on Friday night in Jackson, MS. against future ASC member Belhaven University.
The Lady Cats played tough in the first half, as they trailed 1-0 at intermission, but a five goal surge in the second half was enough to give Belhaven the momentum they needed to secure a 6-0 win.
The Lady Cats, notably missing the leadership of their senior captain
Anna Champagne, held strong on defense in the first half, as a goal by BU's Jessica Mahoney in the 37
th minute from the top of the box was the lone score of the first period.

Mahoney scored goals in 47
th, 57
th, and 62
nd minutes of the second half to pull off the ultra-rare feat of four goals in a single match.
BU's Ashley Harber and Laura Quintero also added goals in the 59
th and 85

The Lady Wildcats did see some impressive performances from a few of their newcomers, as freshmen

Marina Cacho combined for five shots, including two shots on goal.
LC will have a short break before they take on Millsaps University on Saturday in Jackson, MS at 3:00 p.m.
