The Louisiana College men's soccer team dropped a close, hard fought match 3-2 in overtime to Millsaps on Friday afternoon in Jackson, MS as part of the opening weekend to the 2014 season.

The Wildcats were unable to find a solution for Millsaps' Lukas Elmhammar, as the Majors' forward drove home two goals in regulation and the game-winner in overtime to complete a hat trick and ultimately down the Wildcats in their 2014 debut.

Elmhammar broke the scoreless tie in the 18th minute when he scored his first goal of the match unassisted to put the Majors up by one.

Matheus Fullini would then bring the contest to a 1-1 deadlock in the 38th minute when he scored unassisted for the first goal of his career in a Wildcat uniform.

Sophomore Rodrigo Neves, the reigning ASC Freshman of the Year, would then give LC the lead in the 57th minute when he found the back of the net off of an assist from Fullini to give the Wildcats the momentum.

The lead would not hold, however, as Elmhammar answered immediately when he slipped his second goal of the afternoon passed Travis Alexander in the 65th minute to push the match to overtime.

Elmhammar's final goal, the game-winner, would come in the 100th minute of the match, as his outstanding performance gave the Majors the push they needed to take the win against a determined Wildcat squad, who are expecting to continue their success from their historic 2013 season.

LC will have a short rest period before they take on LeGrange on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. in Jackson, MS.
