Box Score Box ScoreUpdated Season StatsAfter a two week layover since their last match, the Louisiana College Lady Wildcats opened their 2014 American Southwest Conference schedule with a 7-0 loss to Mary Hardin-Baylor on Friday afternoon at Wildcat Stadium.
UMHB, who came into Friday's match riding high off of a 4-1 win over Concordia in their ASC opener, got out to a 2-0 lead at halftime on goals from Cameron Shivers and Irelie Riggle.
The Cru scored their two goals in the first half on 14 total shots.
The second half saw another impressive offensive performance from UMHB, as they were able to get off 15 shots and score five goals in the final 45 minutes to take the 7-0 win.
Sarah Rempe started the scoring in the second half with an unassisted goal in the 68
th minute. Kristen Hoelscher followed that in the 70
th minute with an unassisted goal of her own to make the score 4-0.
The Cru would score their final three goals in a five minute stretch late in the half as Emily Boardman, Julianne Kovacik, and Riggle would all find the back of the net to give UMHB the 7-0 advantage.
The Lady Cats (0-7, 0-1) will once again be looking for their first win of the 2014 season as they take on Concordia University (3-2-3, 0-1-1) on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Pineville at Wildcat Stadium.Â
