Two first half goals by the Louisiana College Wildcats were taken off the board due to an official's decision were the difference in Monday night's 2-1 loss to the McMurry Warhawks in the Cats final home game of the 2014 season.

Despite not playing with a handful of their usual starters, the Wildcats came out fast offensively, racking up 18 shots in the match compared to just six for the Warhawks.
But it was two shots that were not counted that ended up being the difference for LC.

The Wildcats grabbed the first lead of the game when freshman Boneco Bazil sent in a laser from the left side of the box off an assist from senior Renato Neves to help LC grab a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute of the first half.

McMurry would eventually tie the match in the 24th minute with a Cody Baker goal on a header coming off a corner kick.

But despite being tied 1-1 going into the half, there was disappointment on the Wildcats' end after a Gabriel Lourenco goal and another goal by Bazil were both taken off of the board due to calls made by the center referee, giving LC two huge missed opportunities to put the match away.

With the scored tied 1-1 and looking like it was on its way to overtime, McMurry's Cody Gentry snuck past the LC defense and sent home the game-winning goal with less than four minutes left in regulation.

The Wildcats had several more chances before the final whistle blew to tie the match up again, but a last second shot by LC defender Nick Luneau as time expired sailed just a bit high and the Warhawks were able to clinch the win.

The Wildcats (6-7-4 overall, 1-3-3 in ASC play) will go into the weekend needing to have a strong performance in two road matches against Hardin-Simmons on Friday and Howard Payne on Saturday in order to make their second consecutive appearance in the ASC Tournament.

Both of those contests are scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
