Box Score Box ScoreThe Louisiana College Lady Wildcats played one of their best first halves of the season, but an early second half goal by ETBU's Natalie Torres gave the Lady Tigers a 2-1 win over LC on Friday night in Marshall, TX.
The Lady Tigers got the first goal of the night when Kendall Harris scored off of a throw in, sneaking the ball into the net to put the Lady Tigers up 1-0 in the 22nd minute.
The Lady Wildcats would step up, however, as
Jayme Harmon stole the ball from 50 feet out and scored the game-tying goal, putting the ball past ETBU keeper Christina Salas to equal the score 1-1.
Playing inspired defense the rest of the first half, the match went into halftime tied 1-1.
However, the Lady Tigers's Natalie Torres would receive a pass from Kaydi Joa Smith after a scrum in front of the net and score the go-ahead, and eventually game-winning goal in the 53rd minute to give ETBU the win.
The loss drops LC's record to 2-12 overall, 1-6 in ASC play, while ETBU greatly improved their chances at clinching a spot in the ASC tournament with the win to move to 6-5-2 overall and 2-3-2 in ASC play.
The Lady Cats will get a rare Saturday off before playing their last home match of the season on Monday against McMurry at 4 p.m. at Wildcat Field.
