Wildcats remain in fourth in ASC standings after 76-56 loss to UMHB

Louisiana College's recent road struggles continued on Thursday night in Belton, TX, as the Wildcats fell to defending national runner-up Mary Hardin-Baylor 76-56.
 
The Wildcats struggled to find their shooting touch from the field, as they shot just 31.4% (16-51) from the field compared to 28-56 performance from the Crusaders. LC also had just one player in double figures, as sophomore guard Kevin Cottonham scored 19 points on the night.
 
UMHB's backcourt duo of Antoine Chaney and James Allen was outstanding, with Chaney going for a game-high 20 points and six assists while Allen poured in 17 points to go along with five assists.
 
The Crusaders were also able to dominate in the paint, as they outscored the Wildcats in that category 38-12, with UMHB forward Jerard Graham setting the pace inside with 15 points and seven rebounds.
 
Despite the loss, the Wildcats (9-7 overall, 9-5 in ASC play) still remain at #4 in the ASC standings behind Texas-Dallas, Hardin-Simmons, and Concordia. LC will have an opportunity to catch Concordia in the standings on Saturday, as the Wildcats and Tornadoes will square off in Austin, TX on Saturday at 3 p.m. Concordia comes into the game in third place in the ASC standings at 13-4 overall with a 10-4 mark in conference play.
