Box Score
Playing in their first home game of the 2013 season, Wildcat fans got their first opportunity to see what looks to be the most promising team in the young history of the men's soccer program at LC, taking a decisive 4-0 victory against Centenary on Thursday night.
The Wildcats wasted no time getting on the board, taking a 1-0 lead on a goal by newcomer
Rodrigo Neves just 10 minutes into the match.
Senior
Caio Sousa would then show off the skills that have molded him into one of the ASC's most highly respected players, scoring LC's next two goals. The first came at the 21 minute mark of the first half off of a beautiful feed from
Fellipe Albuquerque. Senior
Phillip Borde would then team with Sousa at the 78 minute mark in the second half for another goal.
Albuquerque would be credited with another assist just two minutes later as he hit freshman
Greg McDoom with yet another beautiful pass, which McDoom was able to finish for his first career goal as a Wildcat.
LC was arguably more dominant than the score would indicate, as they out shot the Gents by 27 shots (31-4) and had 14 shots on target compared to just 2 for Centenary. The Wildcats also had several potential scoring opportunities lifted as they were called for being offsides on three different occasions.
The Wildcats now sit at 2-1 on the year and will look to carry the momentum their dominant outing into Saturday's matchup with Southwestern Assemblies of God. That game will take place immediately following the LC women's matchup against SAGU.
