The Louisiana College Lady Wildcats concluded their opening weekend of ASC play on a bit of a sour note, dropping a 5-0 decision to undefeated Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday afternoon in Belton, TX.
Â
Mary Hardin-Baylor was able to get off to a fast start with four goals in the first half from Kathryn Parker, Sophia Sanchez, Ashley Teague, and Jessie Simmonds.
Â
The Cru added a final goal in the 85
th minute of the second half when Allison Porter scored a header off of a corner kick.
Â
The Lady Cats were unable to find a way to consistently get past UMHB's defense, as they had just two shots during the match, one in each half.
Â
The win propelled the Cru to a 7-0 season record with a 2-0 mark in conference. The Lady Wildcats fell to 2-7 overall and 0-2 in conference play. LC will get a chance to get back on track at home on Thursday against LeTourneau in a 5 p.m. matchup against the Yellow Jackets. Both of LC's win on the season have come at Wildcat Field.Â
