Louisiana College got ASC play started off with a bang on Friday night in Austin, TX as the Wildcats took a 2-1 win against Concordia University, highlighted by a game-winning goal from freshman Rodrigo Neves.

The Wildcats took a 1-0 advantage early when freshman Greg McDoom scored off of a through ball from Ruben Mendoza.

That lead would stay safe until the 66th minute in second half when Concordia was able to tie the match on a goal from Matthew Butler, as he snuck the ball past LC keeper Cameron Vauclin.

The match would remain tied until the last minute of the contest when Fellipe Albuquerque played a ball from outside of the box to just in front of the goal. Neves was then able to slide in and knock the ball inside the near post, giving LC the lead with just 50 seconds remaining.

The win brought LC's record one win closer to the .500 mark at 4-5, 1-0 in ASC play. They will have a short turnaround before playing Mary Hardin-Baylor at 4 p.m. on Saturday in Belton, TX.
