Box Score
For the fourth consecutive match, the LC men's soccer team was unable to create enough opportunities offensively, falling 3-1 to Hendrix College on Saturday night in Conway, AR.
Â
The Wildcats, who came into the contest on a three game skid, fell behind 2-0 at halftime and were unable to climb out of the early hole.
Â
The Warriors took the 2-0 lead off goals from Anthony Galick in the 25
th minute and Jacob Pierce in the 32
nd minute of the first half. That first half saw Hendrix get off 12 shots compared to just three for the Wildcats.
Â
LC would draw closer in the second half with a goal in the 84
th minute from
Rodrigo Neves off a cross from
Caleb Sutter to make the score 2-1. Neves, a freshman, continues to impress during the last six games, as he has been responsible for seven points in that time frame and tied
Caio Sousa for the team lead in goals scored with three.
Â
The Warriors would answer Neves' goal immediately, however, as Alex Cummings found the back of the net less than two minutes later to provide the final dagger that ended the Wildcats' hopes of a comeback.
Â
The loss dropped LC's record to 3-5 on the season, but with the Wildcats will have a chance to get things back on track next Friday, as they hit the road to take on Concordia in Austin, TX in their ASC opener.Â
