Box Score
Playing their toughest opponent of the young 2013 season, the Louisiana College Lady Wildcats fought valiantly yet again, but were unable to contain a talented Belhaven team, falling by a final score of 3-0.
Â
As most fans of the program have come to expect, the Lady Cats' defense was extremely stingy, especially early, as they did not give up a goal in the first 62 minutes of play.
Â
Belhaven's Hana Jeong was able to break through at the 62:44 mark of the match, however, finding the back of the net to break the scoreless tie. Jeong added another goal in the 78
th minute to give the Blazers a 2-0 lead.
Â
Belhaven's final goal was put away by star forward Jordan Organ in the 87
th minute. Organ, who had an outstanding game during the Saturday night contest, was able to get off 14 shots during the match, 8 of which were on goal.
Â
The result of the match does not overshadow several notable improvements, including the continued development of sophomore keeper Miranda Williams, who had her finest outing in goal for the Lady Wildcats in her young career. Despite allowing three goals, Williams made several impressive athletic saves during the match, coming up with 10 saves total for the night.
Â
Erin Biggs was also very active in the middle of the field for LC, matching up a very athletic and tough front for Belhaven.
Â
Now 2-4 on the season, the Lady Cats will remain at Wildcat Field for the final match of their current five game home stand. That match, against Division I Southern University of Baton Rouge, will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday at Wildcat Field.Â
